Photonica
Photonica at GettyPhotonica are one of the best known rights-managed image providers on the planet.
Their operation is administered through a large number of agents who manage distribution and the business of getting images out to busy agencies and publications worldwide.
We created an infrastrucure based at a UK datacentre that allows global Photonica agents to manage the porfolio of all images (several tens of terabytes). They are able to deliver the hi-resolution images online through accounts they administer centrally. Traditionally images were distributed via costly CD-ROM / mail.
Our system includes a full customer management and contacts database as well as a sophisticated image search engine and archiving application.
In one hit the solution we provided saved the client a significant portion of the annual budget of running this side of the business.
